Ryan is a 6 year old little girl who has been battling leukemia for too much of her young life.  After a stem cell transplant and long stay in the hospital, Ryan went to stay with her grandmother to recover.  Her grandmother  was excited but didn’t really have a “little girl’s room” that would be a great place for Ryan to heal, learn, and grow in.  She needed Ryan to have an inviting place to be, where she felt safe and could have fun.  Because Ryan’s  immune system will continue to be compromised for quite some time, she will have to spend most of her time at home entertaining herself.

A wonderful volunteer team from Crosspointe Church created a fabulous new room for Ryan.  Ryan’s favorite color is pink, and her room is certainly all that!  Her new room was equipped with an intercom that she can use to talk to her grandma downstairs, and has an ottoman that can convert to a bed when Ryan needs grandma to sleep with her hen times are tough or scary.  She has a brand bed for herself, and a new desk filled with learning toys and supplies to help Ryan get ready for kindergarten. filled with learning Most importantly, the team wanted to encourage Ryan’s singing talents and dreams, so a new karaoke machine was a must!

Since the changes to Ryan’s room, her grandmother reports that Ryan is no longer scared of staying in her upstairs bedroom alone, a blessing for both Ryan and her grandmother.
