![]() Donate Online! | April’s Angels was established in August of 2004. Our founder, Victoria Bloise had been blessed with 2 healthy children, and was gaining awareness of the many others in our community who were not as fortunate. Victoria had spent her career working in marketing and brand management for large corporations and wanted to use the business skills she had developed to help families in need. Specifically she wanted to help families of children with chronic medical illnesses. She realized that these chronic illnesses forced these children to spend the majority of thier time at home, usually in their bedrooms. As she learned more, she also began to understand that while these children may have limitations on their physical and mental abilities, their dreams of stardom, success, and fantastic lives were not limited at all. It was then that she decided she wanted to create fantasy bedrooms to keep their dreams alive and hope and joy in their hearts.
The mission of April's Angels is to bring new life into the homes of families with children whose activities outside the home are limited due to their illnesses. April's Angels is run by a team of volunteers, and all work and services are performed by volunteers as well. How do we select our families?
A child can be nominated by a parent or guardian, or by a medical professional treating the child. After we receive a nomination, April's Angels then contacts the parent or guardian to determine interest in having their child considered for a fantasy bedroom. Once interest is confirmed, the family will receive an application package, and when returned to April's Angels, the selection process begins. |
